Hartsburg Hits the Road: New Golf Cart, ATV & UTV Ordinance Rolls Out July 1st

Big news is coming to Hartsburg! Beginning July 1, 2025, residents will be able to legally operate golf carts, ATVs, and UTVs on village streets under a newly enacted ordinance aimed at encouraging community-friendly travel while maintaining safety and accountability.

This exciting change gives residents a fun and convenient way to move around town—whether you’re heading to a neighbor’s house, running a quick errand, or just enjoying a ride through the village. The ordinance outlines requirements for vehicle safety, driver eligibility, and proper permitting to ensure we keep our streets safe for everyone.

Get a Permit at Founders Day – and Save Money!We’re kicking things off with a special promotion: Early bird permits will be available at this year’s Founders Day celebration for just $30. After July 1st, the standard permit rate will apply, so this is a great chance to get ahead and save!

Permits will be issued on-site at Founders Day, making it easy for you to ask questions, get inspected, and ride away ready.
