Mayor
Darien Ritterbush is a lifelong Hartsburg resident with deep roots in the community and a strong vision for its future. Living in the house his family has called home for 45 years, he is committed to preserving the village’s close-knit spirit while driving progress. With proven leadership experience and involvement in the Founders Day Committee, Darien is dedicated to modernizing infrastructure, beautifying public spaces, and fostering a thriving, welcoming community for future generations. Darien is ready to bring new energy and fresh ideas to Hartsburg.

Leonard Racine
Village Clerk
Leonard Racine is a dedicated and detail-oriented community member committed to making Hartsburg a beautiful and welcoming place. Organized and generous, he has spent countless hours enhancing the village’s landscape, from the railroad tracks to the village sign. His passion for Hartsburg’s growth and prosperity, combined with his strong attention to detail are all traits he brings to the role of Village Clerk.

Chris Bowling
Village Trustee
Chris Bowling is a long-standing member of the Hartsburg Village Board and a dedicated public servant. In addition to his trustee role, he serves as the Hartsburg Fire Chief and actively contributes to the community as a member of the Founders Day Committee. Chris and his wife, Christine, have proudly called Hartsburg home for 15 years.
Known for his down-to-earth nature and strong sense of community, Chris is committed to helping the pride of Hartsburg shine. His leadership reflects a deep-rooted dedication to preserving the village’s spirit while working to ensure its continued growth and vitality.

Erin Eeten
Village Trustee
Erin Eeten has been a resident of Hartsburg since 1978. She is dedicated to the community, having worked at Hartem High School for 25 years and actively serving on the Hartsburg Founders Day committee. Erin is also a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She and her husband, Dale, have two children and five grandchildren. Committed to supporting and improving Hartsburg, Erin will be serving her second term on the village board.
Alyssa Charron
Village Trustee
Alyssa Charron is a long-standing resident of Hartsburg with years of experience leading committees within her school district. Dedicated to the future of the village, she is committed to driving meaningful improvements that benefit the community. With strong decision-making and organizational skills, Alyssa is ready to bring her passion and experience to the Village Board.


Emily Coers
Village Trustee
Emily has been a proud resident of Hartsburg since 2012, having built her home and family here alongside her husband, Daniel, and their two children. They are active members of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and deeply invested in the well-being of the community. Professionally, Emily has spent 12 years in the medical field, with the last two in leadership. She is passionate about fostering a welcoming environment, and ensuring our town continues to attract high-quality families looking to establish lasting roots. As a Village Trustee, she is committed to thoughtful oversight, strategic improvements, and maintaining the character and integrity of our community.
Katie Wright
Village Trustee

Katie Wright is a lifelong resident of the Hartsburg-Emden area with a strong commitment to community service. She currently works in the Logan County Clerk & Recorder’s Office and brings a passion for civic engagement to her role on the Village Board. Katie enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends, especially hiking and canoeing. She is excited to work alongside fellow trustees to support growth and opportunity in Hartsburg.

The Village of Hartsburg serves to provide essential municipal services, maintain infrastructure, promote community engagement, and preserve the historic and rural character of Hartsburg for residents and visitors.
