The Village of Hartsburg is committed to transparency and open access to public records in accordance with the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) (5 ILCS 140).
At this time, the Village of Hartsburg does not employ any full-time staff.
Because of this, certain online posting requirements that apply to municipalities with full-time employees do not apply to Hartsburg (Public Act 97-0609).
However, the Village maintains records in compliance with state law and provides them to the public upon request.​

Agendas are posted publicly prior to each Board meeting at the Village Hall and the Post Office. As capacity allows, agendas will also be posted to the Boardroom 411 page of the website.

Approved Meeting Minutes are public records and available upon request. As capacity allows, meeting minutes will also be posted to the Boardroom 411 page of the website.

Ordinances and financial records are maintained according to state records retention requirements.
