Ordinance & Zoning Officer

 

The Village of Hartsburg is seeking a community-minded individual to serve as Ordinance & Zoning Officer.

This role assists the village with monitoring compliance with local ordinances and zoning regulations, responding to resident concerns, documenting potential violations, and coordinating with the Village Board.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responding to ordinance and zoning complaints
  • Observing and documenting potential violations
  • Issuing notices when violations occur
  • Maintaining records of complaints and actions
  • Providing updates to the Village Board on a monthly basis

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work fairly and professionally with residents
  • Basic ability to review and understand village ordinances
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be current on all obligations owed to the Village (e.g., utilities, fees, fines)
  • Must not have any outstanding ordinance violations within the Village

Prior municipal experience is helpful but not required.
